Description:
The legend of Ai Khai (Ai Kai (ไอ้ไข่), or "egg boy", is about a 9-year-old boy who drowned in a river while waiting for his parents to return from the rice fields. The boy's spirit is said to have sought out Luang Pu Thuat, a legendary monk, who instructed him to guard a treasure trove at the location of the current Wat Chedi temple in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Devotees visit his shrine to seek blessings, leaving offerings such as toys, candy, and firecrackers. Ai Kai is well known for granting wishes, especially those related to business success and wealth.
