Kiezuno Kannon from Kiyomizu dera, Kyoto

A red woven omamori dedicated to Kiezuno Kannon, the “Everlasting Kannon,” associated with continuous protection, compassion, and steadiness. Issued through the Kannon tradition of Kiyomizu dera, one of Kyoto’s most significant Buddhist temples, this amulet is carried for protection that endures through daily life rather than for a single moment or event.

Description

The front inscription reads きえずの観音 (Kiezuno Kannon), meaning “Everlasting Kannon,” referring to protection that does not fade. The woven design incorporates temple imagery and auspicious symbols tied to longevity, compassion, and stability. The reverse names Kiyomizu dera, grounding the amulet in the temple’s long standing Kannon worship.

This omamori is traditionally carried rather than displayed. It is gently recommended that after approximately one year of use, it be returned to Kiyomizu dera in Kyoto as an offering of gratitude, completing its cycle of protection.
