A powerful black wood rosary featuring the sacred St. Benedict Medal, blessed by Pope Francis during a papal audience in Vatican City. The combination of the rosary’s traditional prayers and the protective power of the St. Benedict Medal makes this a spiritually potent object for protection, prayer, and devotion.

Acquired: Rome, August 2024

Consecrated/Blessed: August 21, 2024, by Pope Francis during a papal audience in Paul VI Audience Hall, Vatican City

Religion: Catholic

Material: Black Wood

Use:

Used in daily prayer, meditation, and for spiritual protection. This rosary invokes both the guidance of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the powerful intercession of St. Benedict, a saint known for his ability to ward off evil and temptation. With the St. Benedict Medal, it becomes a shield against negative forces, helping the wearer strengthen their faith and resist spiritual attacks. Ideal for invoking peace, strength, and divine protection.

Description:

This black wood rosary, blessed by Pope Francis, features the St. Benedict Medal, one of the most revered symbols of protection in the Catholic tradition. The medal offers a dual layer of spiritual defense, combining the power of prayer through the rosary with the protective inscriptions of the St. Benedict Medal.

  • Front of the Medal: Depicts St. Benedict, holding a cross and the Rule of St. Benedict. Surrounding the image is the prayer “Ejus in obitu nostro praesentia muniamur” (May we be strengthened by his presence in the hour of our death), invoking his protection during life’s most critical moments.
  • Back of the Medal: Features the Cross of St. Benedict along with the letters CSPB (“Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti” – The Cross of our Holy Father Benedict) and the powerful prayer “Vade Retro Satana! Nunquam Suade Mihi Vana! Sunt Mala Quae Libas. Ipse Venena Bibas!” (Begone, Satan! Never tempt me with your vanities! What you offer me is evil. Drink the poison yourself). These words, along with other Latin inscriptions on the medal, form a powerful prayer of exorcism and protection against evil forces.

The rattling beads serve as a calming tool for meditative prayer, while the powerful symbolism of St. Benedict’s Medal provides ongoing spiritual protection for the wearer. This rosary, when used properly, can serve as a powerful shield against negative spiritual energies, invoking divine protection in all aspects of life.

How to Pray the Rosary:

1. Make the Sign of the Cross.

2. Holding the crucifix, say the Apostles’ Creed.

3. On the first bead, say an Our Father.

4. Say one Hail Mary on each of the next three beads.

5. Say the Glory Be.

6. For each of the five decades, announce the Mystery (optionally followed by a brief reading from Scripture), then say the Our Father.

7. While fingering each of the ten beads of the decade, say ten Hail Marys while meditating on the Mystery, then say a Glory Be.

(After each decade, some say the prayer requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima: “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell; lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who have most need of your mercy.”)

8. After saying the five decades, conclude with the Hail, Holy Queen, followed by this dialogue and prayer:

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray: “O God, whose Only Begotten Son, by His life, Death, and Resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech Thee, that while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.”
